No two morning routines are the same. While some people prefer to sleep in a little, grab a cup of coffee, and start work, others prefer to wake up at 5:00 AM sharp, hit the gym, and then begin their workday.
Whether your morning ritual involves meditation, coffee, workouts, or all of these things combined, there are certain habits shared by successful people that always help them succeed.
So, what are the habits that set successful people apart when it comes to their mornings?
There is no one “right” way of doing things, but there is always a right recipe for you personally. In this special solo episode, I’ll explain what my morning routine looks like and give tips on how you can optimize yours to fit your lifestyle, achieve your goals, and have a successful day.
It’s really all about forming healthy habits — if you wake up and go to the gym tomorrow, that’s great, but if you don’t commit to a regular schedule, then that hard work will go to waste.
That’s why I’ve set up a mandatory morning routine so that even on days when I’m tired, or I feel like skipping exercise, I can’t. I know how important my morning routine is in setting up my day for success and so I commit to it. That’s the mindset you want to have as you create your morning routine.
Here are a few things I do each morning:
#1: Take a cold shower. After interviewing the Iceman Wim Hof, I learned about the importance of exposing your body to cold. While it might not be “soothing,” it definitely wakes you up, and it gives you a chance to regulate your body’s response with the calmness of your mind.
#2: Meditate: I like to think of meditation as “flossing your brain” — it gets all the junk out and allows you to approach the day with a clear mind with set goals. There are several different ways you can meditate, so make sure to check out this special episode with the best meditation experts out there!
#3: Get at least 7 hours of sleep: While this doesn’t technically happen in the morning, it’s crucial for my morning routine. If I don’t get at least 7 hours of sleep, my day is way more unproductive, I feel unmotivated, and I’m just plain tired. You really can’t make up the debt of missing out on sleep, so make sure to prioritize getting to bed at a reasonable hour so that you can wake up the next day refreshed!
Your morning routine might not look the same as mine, and that’s okay! You need to create your own morning routine and habits that support your goals and work best for you. That’s what this episode is all about.
