How to Defeat a Negative Mindset and Why You Were Born to WIN

Mindset is everything.

It’s true: Mindset does change everything. Having a healthy, positive mindset sets you up for success while having a negative mindset makes things even harder. Even if the situation you’re facing right now is a negative situation, having a hopeful, abundant mindset will set you up for positive change.

A lot of the times, we let the opinions of others dictate our mindset and ultimately our lives. If someone tells us that we’re not good enough, we start telling ourselves that we aren’t good enough. If someone encourages us about our work, then we work even harder because we know that we’re having a positive influence.

Too often, we let voices of negativity rule our lives. The world is a beautiful place, but not everything it tells you is true. Today, I want to encourage you to do two things: block out the negative voices and be a  voice of positive change.

Mark Twain said, “The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.” I believe that to be true: Greatness isn’t measured in money. Are you changing someone’s life for the better? Are you standing up for positive change? Are you tapping into an abundant mindset?

My guest today personifies greatness in his integrity and the positive impact he’s had on the world. His name is Les Brown, and I’m so excited for you all to hear from him today.

“Change will never come about until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.”

In elementary school, Les was mistaken declared “educable mentally retarded.” Teachers did not recognize the potential of little Les Brown — the same person who would become of the world’s most renowned motivational speakers. Using determination, persistence, and belief, Les unleashed a course of amazing achievements including broadcast station manager, political commentator, and multi-term state representative in Ohio.

As one of the world’s most renowned motivational speakers, Les Brown is a dynamic personality and highly-sought-after resource in business and professional circles for Fortune 500 CEOs, small business owners, non-profit, and community leaders from all sectors of society. For three decades he has not only studied the science of achievement, but he’s also mastered it by interviewing hundreds of successful business leaders and collaborating with them in the boardroom translating theory into bottom-line results for his clients.

Les Brown never tires of using his energies to transform the world, well-beyond the podium and public appearances, meshing traditional and social media to empower his audiences. Hundreds of thousands are watching him on YouTube and tens of thousands interact with him regularly on Facebook.

When I first sat down with motivational speaking icon Les Brown — back in 2017 — I was blown away by his attitude toward life. I felt like I had so much more to ask him, and I’m fortunate I got another chance to interview him in this unique moment in the world. Les is also out with a new book called You’ve Got to Be Hungry! which distills everything he’s learned over the past four decades about finding your inner greatness. It’s definitely a book you don’t want to miss.
