We often pretend that words don’t hurt us. Maybe when we were kids, they did, but now we’re adults — words may sting but we can get over them eventually.
While we do learn how to manage negativity as we grow older, we often forget that the biggest voice of negativity can come from within ourselves. It’s not the bullies pushing us down on the playground, it’s ourselves pushing ourselves down.
The thoughts we think about ourselves impact our behavior, our actions, and ultimately our lives. If we think negative thoughts about ourselves — “I’ll never find love, I’ll never be successful in life, etc.” — then we set ourselves up for a self-fulling prophecy of a disappointing life.
The truth is, we all have these negative thoughts from time to time. It’s just part of being human! The good news is that with the right training and the right therapy, we can rewire our brains to think positively!
It’s amazing what can happen when we change the tape we replay in our heads! With positive energy, we attract positive people, experiences, and opportunities. Changing your way of thinking can be hard, but it isn’t impossible.

Marisa Peer also started the radical #iamenough movement. By just saying those three words repeatedly — “I am enough” — you can change your brain’s thought patterns and come to a place of self-love.
Marisa is the bestselling author of several books, including I Am Enough: Mark Your Mirror and Change Your Life, and makes frequent appearances on TV and radio. She’s helped thousands of people overcome a variety of issues, and is motivated to train others to do the same. Marisa Peer joined me on The School of Greatness back on Episode 695, and it definitely has been one of my most popular episodes to date!
